Getting a Plot

Becoming a Northside Community Garden Member:

Currently there is a waiting list for plots at Northside Garden, and turnover is slow. Priority is given to Berkeley residents. (A Post Office box will not be accepted as proof of Berkeley residency).

To get your name on this wait list, just post a comment with your contact information, below.

  1. Hello, I’ve been living in Berkeley for about 8 months now. I’m grateful to have finally found home. (I didn’t really know what that meant until moving here.) Home also translates to digging in the dirt and putting some roots in the ground. I’d love to be able to have a space to grow some herbs and vegetables, even if it was really small and unkempt. Please add my name to the wait list, and if you have a moment, perhaps you might let me know what my chances are of joining this season. Thanks so much.

  2. I’m a Berkeley resident and would love to be on the waiting list for a plot! All of the comments on this blog seem to be publicly visible, though, and I don’t feel comfortable posting my contact info here. Is there an email address I could send it to instead?

  3. Hi there,
I am moving back to Berkeley this summer and would love to be able to have a plot here. I have been working on the Student Farm at UC Davis for the past year and couldn’t imagine my life without some soil under my nails. Could you add me to the wait list and let me know how long it is?

    Best,
    Rosie

  4. Hello,

I just moved to Berkeley from San Diego to start grad school and I am very interested in being able to plot here. Could you add me to the waitlist as well as let me know what the wait list is looking like?

    Cheers,

  5. Hello,
I am a UC Berkeley student and would love to finally have an in-ground garden plot to help grow a larger percentage of my food locally. I’m majoring in genetics and plant biology but have been seriously held back from growing more by my small apartment balcony. Could you please add me to the list?
    Best,

  6. Hello,

My name is Na Ra Park, moved up here in Berkeley this past summer from Irvine, CA. I used to have a little plot previously which gave me joy and energy everyday. I would love to have a little spot so that I can grow my own vegetables and also share experience with different farmers. Please add me in the wait list.

    Regards,
    Na Ra
